Emily Curtis earns Charles Inn female athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 283 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had eight Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Emily Curtis averaged 21 points to lead Woodland in two close girls basketball wins this past week. The Dragons are 12-5 heading into the final week of the regular season. Curtis joins Ryan Lincoln (5-20-12), Damon Lincoln (9-29-13), and Drew Hayward (9-30-18) as student/athletes from Woodland high school that have earned athlete of the week honors.

Emily Curtis- Woodland- Basketball- had 20 points and 10 rebounds in 41-37 win over Madawaska. Had 22 points in 39-33 win over Fort Kent.

Runner up

Kaylee Ireland- Jonesport-Beals- Basketball- scored 29 points, including 4 three pointers in 60-51 win over Sumner. 

Other nominations

Alison Shaw- Central- Basketball- scored 15 points in 54-33 win over Bucksport. 

Ellie Sockabasin- Orono- Basketball- scored 19 points in 40-33 win over John Bapst.

Katie Erskine- Woodland- Basketball- recorded 13 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and five blocks in 45-44 win over Fort Kent.

Peyton Grant- Dexter- basketball- scored 23 points, including 3 three pointers in 56-12 win over PCHS. Scored 20 points, including 4 three pointers in 51-23 win over Bangor Christian. 

Alyse Campbell- Central – Basketball- had 11 points, seven rebounds, and five steals in 42-35 win over Mattanawcook.

Halle Pelletier – Greenville- Basketball- recorded 22 points, 16 rebounds, seven steals, six assists, and five blocks in 50-26 win over PCHS.
