DEXTER– The Dexter Tigers have not started games quickly. That changed on Wednesday afternoon when Kassandra Gray scored just 50 seconds into the game as the Tigers rolled to a 3-0 win over Piscataquis Community High School (PCHS) in a class C field hockey contest.

Dexter outshot PCHS 16-2, including 10-2 in the first half. One of those shots came from Lexy Dow. That shot gave the Tigers a 2-0 lead with 6:29 remaining in the half. The Tigers defense came up big in the second half, not allowing a shot. Gray put in a insurance goal with 12:28 remaining.

Louise Gerickont had four saves for the Pirates. PCHS (7-4) will host Foxcroft on Thursday. Shawnee McNally had two saves for the Tigers. Cheyenne Beem had two assists, while Dow had one. Dexter (9-2) will host Old Town on Thursday.
