Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 319 past athlete of the week winners.
This week we had seven Rowells Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Makenzie Alley averaged 28.3 points, 15.8. Rebounds, 5.5 steals, and 3.5 assists in leading Searsport to a 4-0. Alley has helped the Vikings win five straight and clinch a spot in the class C tournament. Alley joins Briana Grant (2-9-14), Jake Powell (5-10-14), Karigen Coffin (2) (9-17-16), Melinda Ogden (12-21-14), Troy Reynolds (2-8-15), Brittany Ward (5-16-15), Bryce Shorey (1-16-16), and Mitchell Philbrook (6-19-17) as student/athletes from Searsport high school that have earned athlete of the week honors.

- Makenzie Alley- Searsport- recorded 25 points, 16 rebounds, five steals, and three assists in 42-32 win over PCHS. Recorded 31 points, 20 rebounds, seven steals, and three assists in 56-41 win over Sumner. Recorded 28 points, 14 rebounds, five steals, and four assists in 53-37 win over North Haven. Recorded 19 points, 13 rebounds, five steals, and four assists in 42-30 win over North Haven.

- Trinity Montigny– Ellsworth – scored 42 points, including 1000 career point in 80-35 win over Foxcroft.
Other nominations
- Abi Allen- Central- basketball- scored 22 points in 56-36 win over Bucksport. Had 16 points in 37-21 win over PCHS. Had 20 points in 58-50 win over Mattanawcook.
- Rylee Eaton- Deer Isle-Stonington – basketball- recorded 16 points, 12 rebounds, six steals, three assists, and two blocks in 43-33 win over George Stevens.
- Halle Pelletier- Greenville- basketball- scored her 1000 career point in 46-28 win over PVHS.
- Kaci Alley- Narraguagus- basketball- recorded 20 points,including 1000 career point, 11 rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 74-28 win over Jonesport-Beals. Recorded 14 points, 12 rebounds, and three assists in 53-38 win over Washington Academy.
- Peyton Grant- Dexter- basketball- scored 18 points (all in first half), including her 1000 career point in 42-8 win over Penquis. Scored 14 points, including three free throws with 11 seconds left in 21-19 win over Greenville. Had 13 points in 39-14 win over PCHS.
