Myles Brown earns second Roadrunner Taxi male athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 319 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had eight Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Myles Brown averaged 24.5 points in helping Deer Isle-Stonington to a 2-2 week. Brown also captured athlete of the week honors on January 6th.

Roadrunner Taxi male athlete of the week.

  • Myles Brown- Deer Isle-Stonington – basketball- recorded 30 points, seven rebounds, four steals, and three assists in 78-27 win over Islesboro. Recorded 26 points, seven steals, six rebounds, and six assists in 75-52 win over Bangor Christian. Had 17 points and seven assists in an overtime 55-48 loss to George Stevens Academy. Recorded 25 points, 3 steals, 2 rebounds and 2 assists in 63-55 loss to Greenville. 

Runner up

  • Jackson Curtis- Ellsworth – basketball- scored 27 points in 59-40 win over John Bapst. Had 20 points and 12 rebounds in 84-58 win over Foxcroft.

Other nominations

  • Coleman Brown- Deer Isle-Stonington- recorded 19 points, nine rebounds, one steal, one assist in 50-39 loss to Machias. Had 16 points in 75-52 win over Bangor Christian.  Had 14 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks in 55-48 overtime loss to George Stevens Academy.
  • Alex Hewitt- Central- basketball- scored 25 points, including 6 three pointers in 74-73 triple overtime win over previously undefeated George Stevens. 
  • Austin Delisle- – Fort Kent- basketball- had 17 points and 13 rebounds in 72-49 win over Madawaska. Had 11 points in 60-55 win over Central Aroostook. 
  • Caleb Crocker- Foxcroft- basketball- had 18 points (4 three pointers) in 53-34 win over Hermon. Scored 25 points in 63-54 loss to Presque Isle.
  • Kobe Gilbert- PCHS- basketball- had 27 points (including 4 three pointers in 69-65 loss to Schenck.
  • Rico Ayala- Foxcroft – wrestling – recorded his 150th career win.
