Peyton Grant joins Kolleen Bouchard and Leine McKechnie as 10 time athlete of the week winners

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 328 past athlete of the week winners.

This week we had eight Rowells Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Peyton Grant averaged 26.7 points in leading Dexter to three wins. Grant edged out Izzy Allen to earn her 10th athlete of the week honor. Grant joins Kolleen Bouchard (19) (Houlton) and Leine McKechnie (13) (PVHS) as 10 time athlete of the week winners. This is the second straight athlete of the week for Grant.

February 8th–13th

  • Peyton Grant- Dexter- basketball- had 31 points, including 7 three pointers in 77-32 win over Foxcroft. Had 24 points in win over PCHS. Had 25 points in 12 minutes in win over Greenville.

Runner up

  • Izzy Allen- Central- basketball recorded 20 points, eight rebounds, and six steals in win over Greenville. Recorded 22 points and six rebounds, in 48-36 win over Foxcroft, it was Central coaches Jamie Russell 400th career win. Recorded nine points, seven rebounds, four steals, and three assists in 40-32 win over Foxcroft

Other nominations

  • Rylee Eaton- Deer Isle-Stonington- recorded 21 points, four assists, four blocks, four rebounds and two steals in the Mariners 70-33 win over Searsport.
  • Audrey Mackie- Oceanside- basketball- had 25 points, including 7 three pointers in 70-46 win over Boothbay.
  • Sarah Poli- Lawrence- basketball- had 15 points and 17 rebounds in 50-41 win over Winslow.
  • Cammy King- Nokomis- basketball- had 21 points, eight steals, and three assists in 54-40 win over MCI.
  • Bodhi Littlefield- Winslow- basketball- scored 23 points in 53-41 loss to Waterville.
  • Kali Thompson- Waterville- basketball- had 17 points and 18 rebounds in 53-41 win over Winslow. Had 10 points and game high 19 rebounds in 38-37 win over Erskine.
