Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 350 past athlete of the week winners.
This week we had five Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Ella Hosford had 11 goals and four assists to lead Bucksport to two wins. Hosford has helped Bucksport girls soccer enter tournament play undefeated. It is the third athlete of the week honor for Hosford.
October 18th-October 23rd
- Ella Hosford- Bucksport- soccer- had two goals and three assists in win over Orono. Finished regular season with 50 goals and 30 assists. Had nine goals and one assist in 17-0 prelim win over Narraguagus.
Runner up
- Izzy Allen – Central- soccer – had three goals and one assist in 7-0 win over PCHS. Had four goals and one assist in 16-0 class C prelim win over Sumner.

- Callie Moran- Brewer – field hockey- scored game winner in 3-2 overtime win for the 11th seeded Witches over #6 Brunswick.
- Emily Treat- Hermon- soccer- had a hat trick in 6-2 win over John Bapst.
- Olivia Varney- MCI- soccer- had a hat trick in 10-1 win over Mount View.
- Emma Burr- MCI- soccer- had a hat trick in 10-1 win over Mount View.
