Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. If you want to sponsor the female or male athlete of the week email Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. Use that same email to send your nominations in during the week. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 350 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had four Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Parker Higgins had six touchdowns and rushed for six touchdowns and 287 yards in leading Lawrence to a season finale win over Messalonskee. Higgins joins Nia Irving (2) (1-30-16) and Sage Reed (5-3-21) as student/athletes from Lawrence high school that have earned athlete of the week honors.
