Lyndsee Reed earns third female athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the past athlete of the week winners.

This week we had six Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Lyndsee  Reed  had a huge game in leading Hermon to a softball win. It is the third athlete of the week honor for Reed. 

April 17th-April 23rd

  • Lyndsee Reed- Hermon- softball- had five hits, including a cycle, four runs scored, six RBI, and a grand slam in 24-0 win over Foxcroft.

Runner up

  • Kaylee Elkins- Lawrence- softball- reached base five times, has three hits, including a homer and five runs scored and four RBI in 27-2 win over Oceanside.

Other nominations

  • Taylor Wilkie- Lawrence – softball- had two hits, including a homer and four runs scored and five RBI in 27-2 win over Oceanside.
  • Cassidy Ireland- Bangor- softball- hit a walk off double in the 8th inning in 4-3 win over Edward Little.
  • Danielle Masterson- Hampden- softballs pitched a three hitter with 17 strikeouts in 9-0 win over Mt. Blue.
  • Lauryn Brown – Orono- softball- had three hits, including two homers and three RBI. Plus played outstanding defense at shortstop in 20-3 win over Washington Academy.
