Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. If you want to sponsor the female or male athlete of the week email Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. Use that same email to send your nominations in during the week. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 330 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had four Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominationn. Alex Tash powered the PVHS Howlers to a pair of baseball wins. Tash did it with his arm and his bat to lead the Howlers to a 2-0 start to the season. It is the second athlete of the week honor for Tash. He also earned the honor on May 13th, 2019.
Male athlete of the week April 18th-April 24th
- Alex Tash- PVHS- baseball- lifted the Howlers to 12-1 win over Penquis and 12-3 win over Lee. Tash notched two wins on the mound giving up just two hits in six innings of work and 0 runs. Also went 4 for 6 in the two games with two doubles, one Home Run and 6 RBI.

- Simon Allen- Central- baseball- went 3-4 with a triple and two RBI in 7-5 win over Mattanawcook.

- Owen Gadreau- Bucksport- baseball- threw four shutout innings in 10-0 win over Sumner.
