Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 225 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had 12 Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Brayden Miller hit a walk-off home run to give the Dexter Tigers a 6-4 semifinal win over Fort Kent. It is the second athlete of the week honor for Miller. He was named AOW on September 20th, 2015. This is the second straight week a Dexter student/athlete earned AOW honor. Miller’s teammate freshman Nathan Richards captured AOW last week. The Tigers will face Orono in the regional final on Wednesday at 6:30 PM.
McGuire Seasonal Services male athlete of the week
Brayden Miller- Dexter- baseball- hit a walk-off two run home run in 6-4 class C semifinal win over Fort Kent. Miller had two hits and also was the winning pitcher by throwing two innings of hit less relief.
Runner up
Cole Daniel- Old Town- baseball- had four hits (two doubles/two triples) and three RBI in 9-1 class B quarterfinal win over Waterville. Went 2-3 with a double, triple, and RBI in 2-0 semifinal win over Ellsworth.

Seth Clark- MDI- baseball- pitched a complete game two hit shutout with six strikeouts in 1-0 class B prelim win over Oceanside.
Jordan Merritt- Hodgdon- baseball- recorded two hits, three RBI, three runs scored, and three stolen bases in 17-7 class D prelim win over East Grand.
Issiac Christiansen- Sumner- baseball- pitched a four-hitter and struck out 12 in 2-0 class C prelim victory over Central.
Isia Bouchard- Houlton- baseball- had three hits and three RBI in 10-0 class C quarterfinal win over Sumner.
Dean Grass- Bangor Christian- baseball- had four hits in class D quarterfinal win over Southern Aroostook. Had three hits in 9-1 class D semifinal win over Shead.
Jacob Bickford- Dexter- baseball- pitched a three-hitter with nine strikeouts and had two hits in 2-1 class C quarterfinal win over Mattanawcook. Had a double and RBI in 6-4 class C semifinal win over Fort Kent.
Nathan Richards- Dexter – baseball- went 4-4 with one run scored and one RBI, also pitched five innings in 6-4 class C semifinal win over Fort Kent.
Ethan Stoddard- Old Town- baseball- pitched a one-hitter in 2-0 class B semifinal win over Ellsworth.
Jared Harvey- Fort Fairfield- baseball- fired a two-hitter in 5-0 class D semifinal win over Hodgdon.
Josh Palmeter- Bangor Christian- baseball- pitched a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts in 9-1 class D semifinal win over Shead.
