Brian Johnson throws complete game shutout in first career game at Fenway Park

Brian Johnson pitched a complete game shutout in his first career start at Fenway Park on Saturday afternoon.

Johnson allowed only five hits and struck out eight in leading the Boston Red Sox to a 6-0 victory over the Seattle Mariners. Johnson didn’t walk a batter in a 109 pitch/85 strike performance.

Jackie Bradley JR hit a two run home run and made an outstanding catch in the ninth inning.

Hanley Ramirez and Mitch Moreland had two hits each . It was the first complete game and first shutout thrown by Red Sox pitchers this season.  Johnson (2-0) was optioned to triple A Pawtucket after the game.

The Red Sox will go for their seventh straight win on Sunday afternoon as Rick Porcello takes the mound against the Mariners.
