Central baseball rolls to fourth win

CORINTH– The Central Red Devils baseball team started quickly and ended  things early when they defeated Bangor Christian 20-1 in a game that was finished after five innings due to the mercy rule.

The Red Devils took advantage of four walks to score four runs in the bottom of the first inning. Ethan Mailman had a single that scored two runs, while Micah Ward hit a sacrifice fly. Grant Poulin and Gage Poulin each had run scoring hits in a six run Central second inning. The Red Devils scored two more in the third inning and eight in the fourth to put the game away.

Dakota Miller and Andrew Speed scored four runs each for the Red Devils. Zach Randall had one double, two RBI, and three runs scored. Grant Poulin recorded two hits, five RBI, and one run scored, Ward added two RBI, while Nolan DeMoranville and Gage Poulin had one RBI each. Gage Poulin and Tanner Scott combined to throw a two hitter. Central (4-1) will travel to Blue Hill this afternoon for a clash with George Stevens.

Matthew Chrietian had one hit and one run scored for the Patriots, while Tyler Welch had one hit. Bangor Christian (2-3) will travel to Millinocket on Friday for a class D battle with Stearns.
