State championship weekend is here and the title of 2016 Eastern Maine Sports Football expert is still up for grabs. Chris Lessner still holds the lead at the top of the standings.
Lessner at 82-28 is one game ahead of two-time defending champion Bob Beatham. Skip Hawkes is two games out, Andrew Hart is three games out, while Marc Calnan and Sean Stackhouse are four games behind at 78-32.
This week, the panel is picking the four state championship games and the NFL Sunday night game. The experts picked the teams from the south to win the class A and class C games. They have the teams from the north winning the class B and D games. Below is a full list of semifinal games we are picking this week with the experts picks at the bottom of the page. Tiebreaker is total number of points for Brunswick, Portland, MDI, and MCI. Number is in parentheses for those still with an opportunity to finish in a tie.
