BANGOR– Ellsworth went on a 17-0 run to end the first half and rolled to a 56-28 win over Maine Central Institute (MCI) in a Maine Principals’ Association class B north quarterfinal game Saturday morning at the Cross Insurance Center.
The Eagles out rebounded MCI 40-20, including 20-6 in the first half. Ellsworth (15-4) will take on Caribou in a semifinal game on Wednesday evening.
Bruce St. Peter led the Eagles with 15 points, 13 rebounds, and four assists. Nicholas Bagley added 11 points, nine rebounds, and two assists. Alex Braley and Kyle Golding chipped in with eight points each, while Bryce Harmon had six points and five assists.
Tre Grier led the Huskies with 13 points and five rebounds. Josh Buker added seven points, two assists, and two steals. MCI finishes the season with a record of 8-12.
