Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 199 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had six Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Evan Chadbourne had a big game in lifting the Foxcroft Ponies to a playoff clinching win over John Bapst. Chadbourne is the 13th student/athlete from Foxcroft Academy and the 200th overall to be named athlete of the week. He joins Ryan Rebar  (3) (2-17-13), Donnie Boyer (3) (6-2-13),Peter Boyer (3) (10-19-14), Brianna Skolfield (2) (12-15-13), Mackenzie Coiley (2) (1-26-14), Julia Annis (2) (2-17-14)
Tino Ayala (2) (12-28-14). Cameron Fadley (2-25-13)
Jesse Provost (4-28-13), Kaleb Smith (4-21-13), Hunter Smith (4) (2-6-16), and Alli Bourget (9-25-16) as student/athletes from Foxcroft to be named athlete of the week.

Runner up

Brad Mckechnie- PVHS – soccer scored both goals in the 2-0 win in regular season finale agains Penquis of Milo. Scored both goals off headers to defeat Shead in class D prelim contest.

Other nominations

Barrett Grant- Searsport- soccer- recorded a hat trick in 7-1 win over Dexter.

Connor Kneeland- Searsport- soccer- recorded a hat trick in 7-1 win over Dexter.

Lucas Craig- Ashland- soccer- had two goals and three assists in class D prelim win over Deer Isle-Stonington.

Connor McCluskey- Orono- football-Had many tackles, including a few in the fourth quarter in 27-26 win over Dexter.
