Forest Hills sweeps doubleheader over Highview Christian

BANGOR- The Forest Hills boys and girls basketball teams made the long trip from Jackman to Bangor for a doubleheader against the Highview Christian Knights on Friday afternoon,

The Forest Hills boys team got nine fourth quarter points from Brandon GIlboe as they held off the Knights for a 44-35 victory. Dalton Gregoire led the Tigers with 10 points (all in the first half). Gregoire went 7-9 from the free throw line. Javier Padilla added eight points, while Carson Veilloux scored seven points (all in the third quarter). Jack Hoyt scored six first half points, Jakob Rivas and Hunter Cuddy scored two points each. Forest Hills (7-10) will end the regular season against North Haven.

Jeffrey Macomber led the Knights with 14 points (12 in the first half), TJ Sheldon added nine points, while Zach Clark scored eight points, and David Stanley chipped in with four points. Highview Christian (2-14) will host Greenville on Monday.

In the girls game, Forest Hills scored 54 second half points to come from behind and earn a 68-31 victory,

The Knights had a 9-1 lead after the first quarter and built that to 11-1 early in the second quarter. Highview held a 19-14 halftime lead behind seven first half points from Kelsea Mcdonald.

The Tigers took over early in the second half as they turned up the defense and dominated play near the basket. Linda Riley finished with 26 points (19 in the second half, while Caitlin Logston scored 24 points (22 in the second half). Riley (14) and Logston (11) also combined for 25 rebounds. Patrica Lessaed added 11 points, while Alexandria Lessaed scored five points, and Demitria Giroux added two points. Forest Hills (13-4) will finish their regular season against North Haven.

Megan Mcdonald led the Knignts with 10 points, Kelsea Mcdonald scored nine points, Cassidy Lessner put in six points, while Kelsi Upham, Rachel Pomerleau, and Cassidy Burns added two points each. Highview Christian (10-6) will host Greenville on Monday.
