Issiac Christiansen pitched a four-hit shutout to lead the Sumner Tigers to a Maine Principals’ Association class C baseball 2-0 preliminary round win over Central on Tuesday afternoon.
The Tigers took advantage of nine walks, including two in the second inning and three in the fourth to score their only runs.
Aiden Weaver recorded the only hit for Sumner. Weaver smacked a single in the Tigers second inning rally.
Sumner received three walks after one out in the fourth inning. Ethan Young grounder scored Jordan Piper.
Christiansen walked three and struck out 12. Sumner (5-12) will travel to second seed Houlton for a quarterfinal game on Thursday.
