Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 181 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had 10 Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Jarrett Priest did it with his arm and his bat to help the Penobscot Valley high school (PVHS) Howlers roll to three wins during the past week. Priest is the fifth student/athlete from PVHS to earn athlete of the week honors. He joins Kayla Dube  (4)- (5-12-13),Arianna McKinnon (2) (5-31-14), Amy Hallett (2) (10-3-15),Ryley Buck (9-13-15). Zach Nash from Hermon high school finished as a close runner up. Nash threw a perfect game.

Down East Limousine male athlete of the week

Jarrett Priest – PVHS – baseball – had eight strikeouts in 5.2 innings on the mound and had three hits, four RBI, and four stolen bases in 10-5 win over Woodland. Recorded four hits, five RBI, three stolen bases, including a home run to end the game in the 6th inning in 13-3 win over PCHS. He pitched a one hitter with nine strikeouts, plus had two hits, two runs scored, and two RBI in 13-0 win over Bangor Christian.

Runner up

Zach Nash – Hermon- baseball- pitched a perfect game, with 10 strikeouts on 75 pitches in 4-0 win over Presque Isle.

Other nominations
Troy Reynolds- Searsport – baseball- pitched a two hitter, striking out 14 in 7-0 win over Richmond.

Seth Garvin-Stearns- baseball- pitched a complete game two hitter with 12 strikeouts and two walks in 13-2 win over Schenck. Garvin was also 2 for 3 at the plate with two bunt singles.

Dana Ouellette- Old Town- baseball- struck out 14, while only allowing one walk, three hits, and one run in 7-1 nine inning win over Foxcroft.

Jake Ketch- Old Town- baseball- went 3-5 with a double in 7-1 win over Foxcroft.

Austin Sheehan- Old Town- baseball- had two hits and two RBI in 7-1 win over Foxcroft.

Drew Coulombe- Old Town- baseball- pitched two scoreless innings of relief, striking out five in 7-1 win over Foxcroft.

Nate Church- Foxcroft- baseball- allowed one run in eight innings, on six hits, two walks, while striking out seven, plus he recording two hits, including a run scoring triple in 7-1 loss to Old Town.

Nick Guerrette- Hermon- baseball- pitched a two hitter, striking out 10 in 2-0 win over Ellsworth.
