Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 171 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, a total of three Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations came in. We have two firsts this week. Jeffrey Macomber is the first eighth grade student/athlete to earned athlete of the week honors. Macomber is also the first student/athlete from Highview Christisn Academy to earn the honor. Macomber helped Highview Christian win their first two games of the season. They came into the season on a 20 game losing streak. Justin Thompson and Christopher King also earned a nomination this week. The duo helped Schenck come back from a 12 point halftime deficit and defeat PCHS 50-45.

Down East Limousine male athlete of the week

Jeffrey Macomber- Highview Christian- basketball- the 8th grader scored 23 points in 52-33 win over North Haven. The win snapped a 20 game Highview Christian losing streak. Scored 16 points in 58-28 win over North Haven.

Runner up

Justin Thompson- Schenck- basketball- recorded 18 points, 14 rebounds, and three assists in 50-45 win over PCHS.

Other nominations

Christopher King- Schenck- basketball- scored 14 points in the second half in 50-45 win over PCHS.
