Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 189 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had nine Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Kaleb Gifford earned his second straight Down East Limousine athlete of the week. Gifford was an unanimous selection this week after throwing a perfect game in leading Old Town to a quarterfinal win over Belfast.

Kaleb Gifford- Old Town- baseball- pitched a perfect game, striking out eight in 3-0 class B north quarterfinal win over Belfast.

Nick Mazurek- Oceanside- baseball- pitched a one hitter with 11 strikeouts in 6-0 class B prelim win over Presque Isle.

Dean Grass- Bangor Christian- baseball- pitched a four hitter, striking out 11 in 8-3 class D prelim win over Woodland.
Seth Garvin – Stearns- baseball- had four singles, a double and four RBI in 14-5 Class D Prelim win over Southern Aroostook.
Devin Whitney – Stearns- baseball- had two doubles in 14-5 Class D Prelim Win over Southern Aroostook.
Ethan Pelkey – Stearns- baseball- had two doubles in 14-5 Class D Prelim Win Over Southern Aroostook.
Zack Bouchard – Stearns- baseball- had a single and double in 14-5 Class D Prelim Win over Southern Aroostook.
Ryan Jurgiewich- Schenck- baseball- threw a two hitter, striking out 13 in 7-1 class D prelim win over Washburn.
Cameron Pratt – Dexter – baseball- Pratt had a lead off home run to help Dexter upset Orono 14-6 in class C prelim. He also had a single and a walk. He had two RBI and two runs scored.
