Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 173 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had 10 Rowell’s Garage athlete of the week nominations.  Kelli Kennedy averaged 26 points in leading the Narraguagus Knights to three wins this week. Kennedy also recorded a triple double in a win over Woodland. Narraguagus joins Fort Fairfield as the only undefeated teams in class C. Kennedy also earned athlete of the week honors last season, when she had a big game in a Knighrs win over PCHS.

Other nominations for the week include Emma Alley and Jessicca Girsa from Stearns, Sidney Moore from Nokomis, Madison Card from Ellsworth, Kayli Cunningham and Megan Peach from Dexter, Chantel Lane and Kayla Falone from Schenck, and Erin Speed from PCHS.

Roadrunner Taxi female athlete of the week

Kelli Kennedy- Narraguagus- basketball- scored 27 points in 60-27 win over Shead. Recorded 25 points, 12 rebounds, and six steals in 70-36 win over Sumner. Recorded 26 pts, 13 steals, 12 rebounds, four assists and three blocks in 76-35 win over Woodland. Kennedy joins Anna Ramsay as student/athletes from Narraguagus high school that have earned athlete of the week honors. Ramsay is also a two time winner.

Runner up

Emma Alley -Stearns- scored 17 points in 71-28 win over Penquis. Scored 23 points in 59-50 win over Katahdin.

Other nominations

Madison Card – Ellsworth- scored 19 points in 42-34 win over Old Town.

Sidney Moore- Nokomis- scored 21 points on 8-10 shooting, including (4) 3-pointers and grabbed five rebounds in 48-19 win at Waterville.

Megan Peach- Dexter- basketball- recorded 10 points, 15 rebounds, and nine blocks in 37-28 win over PVHS.

Kayli Cunningham- Dexter- recorded 16 points (8-10 shooting), six rebounds, three assists, and three steals in 37-28 win over PVHS.

Jessicca Girsa – Stearns- Scored 16 points in 71-28 win Over Penquis. Scored 14 points in 59-50 win over Katahdin.

Erin Speed- PCHS- basketball- scored 22 points, including 6 three pointers in 45-29 win over PVHS.

Chantel Lane- Schenck- basketball- scored 21 points in 72-39’win over Fort Kent.

Kayla Falone- Schenck- basketball – scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds in 72-39 win over Fort Kent.
