Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 199 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had nine Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Kylie Nelson led the Belfast Lions to the class B field hockey regional final game and also was named one of three Miss Maine finalist.. Nelson also earned athlete of the week honors on September 20th, 2015.

Kylie Nelson- Belfast- field hockey-scored four goals in 8-1 win over Winslow in class B semifinal game. Recorded two assists in 3-1 quarterfinal win over Nokomis.

Addie Williams- MCI- field hockey- recorded a hat trick in 10-0 class C quarterfinal win over Orono. Scored two goals in 6-2 regional final win over Boothbay.

Grace Giberson- Central Aroostook- recorded a hat trick in 5-0 win over East Grand.
Grace Belanger- Dexter- field hockey – scored two goals and had one assist in 5-0 class C north quarterfinal win over Mattanawcook.

Hannah Sanderson- Belfast- field hockey- scored two goals in 3-1 class B quarterfinal win over Nokomis.

Alli Bourget- Foxcroft- field hockey- recorded a hat trick and one assist in 10-0 class B quarterfinal win over Orono.
