Matt Richards leads Dexter boys soccer to comeback win over PCHS

DEXTER– The Dexter Tigers battled back from a deficit for the second straight game. This time it resulted in a 7-6 win over Piscataquis Community High School (PCHS) on Friday afternoon.

Dillion Drew gave the Pirates a 6-3 lead with 33:17 on the clock. Matt Richards scored five goals, including the game tying goal with 7:23 remaining and the go ahead goal with 4:12 left.

Matt Richards set up his brother Nathan Richards for two goals that helped the Tigers cut the deficit to 6-5 with 12:54 remaining.

Drew and Cameron Kane scored two goals each for the Pirates, Bryce Gilbert added one goal and two assists. Kobe Gilbert scored the first goal of the game. Sean Kimball recorded 11 saves on 22 shots. PCHS (2-1) will travel to Foxcroft Academy on September 13th.

The Tigers also came back from a deficit to earn a tie with George Stevens in their season opener. Brett Kusneirz and Matt Hanscome combined for 15 saves on 24 shots. Dexter (1-0-1) will host Foxcroft on Monday, September 11th.
