Philbrick scores two in leading Highview Christian girls soccer team to win over GPCA

CHARLESTON–Javona Philbrick scored two goals to lead the Highview Christian Knights girls soccer team to a 3-0 win over Greater Portland Christian on Wednesday afternoon. 

Philbrick got the Knights on the scoreboard just 2:55 into the contest.   That was the only scoring in the first  half despite 18 combined shots between the two teams in the first half.

Philbrick gave the Knights a two goal advantage with 18:48 remaining in the second half. Hannah Goulet finished the scoring with 13:38 remaining.

Megan McDonald recorded six saves on eight shots for the Knights. Highview Christian (3-3) will host Woodland on Friday. 

Chairette Kirezi recorded 11 saves on 23 shots for Greater Portland Christian (0-4).
