Sigi Koizar scored 30 points on 10-16 shooting from the field, including 5-8 from three point range in leading the University of Maine women’s basketball team to a 69-65 win over Missouri State on Saturday morning. The Black Bears will be in the fifth place game at the Gulf Coast Showcase at 1:30 PM on Sunday afternoon.
Liz Wood filled up the stat sheet with 13 points, eight rebounds, four steals, and three assists. Sophie Weckstrom added 12 points and five assists. Koizar also had four assists.
Maine (4-3) fell to Dayton 58-37 on the first day of the showcase at Estero, Florida. Maine was out rebounded 43-23 in the win over Missouri State. Koizar has scored in double figures in 12 straight games.
