CORINTH- The Central Red Devils boys basketball team scored 21 points in the third quarter to rally from behind and earn a 50-47 victory over Caribou on Saturday afternoon.
Donovan Savage scored 14 first half points, including 10 in the second quarter as the Vikings held a 25-21 halftime lead. Dylan Gray and Grant Poulin had five points each in the first half for the Red Devils.
Central had six different players score in the third quarter with Andrew Speed leading the way with six points during the quarter. Andrew Prescott made two free throws late in the fourth quarter to secure the victory, Caribou had the ball at the end of the fourth quarter, the Red Devils defense forced Savage into a tough shot that fell short.
Speed scored 13 points to lead the Red Devils, Prescott added nine points, while Gray and Poulin chipped in with eight points each. Central (10-6) will finish the regular season with a home game against MDI on Tuesday and a road game at Foxcroft. Eastern Maine Sports will broadcast the game at Foxcroft live on Thursday night starting around 6:50 p.m. The Red Devils have won six of their last seven games.
Savage scored 22 points to lead the Vikings, while Ricky Sheldon added eight points. Caribou (8-8) will travel to Fort Kent on Monday night.
