BANGOR– Kolleen Bouchard recorded 23 points, eight rebounds, four blocks, and two steals to lead Houlton to a 49-38 Maine Principals’ Association class B north semifinal victory over Winslow at the Cross Insurance Center on Wednesday afternoon.
The Black Raiders had a lead of 4-2 early in the first quarter, Houlton scored the next nine points to take a 13-4 lead heading into the second quarter.
The Shiretowners built the lead as high as 14 in the second quarter, and held a 21-9 halftime lead. Bouchard and Aspen Flewelling scored 11 points each in the second half as Houlton overcame 22 turnovers to earn a trip to the Northern Maine title.
Rylee Warman scored seven points (2 three pointers), Natalie Hill recorded six points,four assists, and three rebounds, Kristen Graham chipped in with two points. Houlton (19-1) will take on Hermon in the regional final in Saturday, February 20th at 2:05 p.m. Hermon defeated Presque Isle in a class B semifinal game.
Heather Kervin led the Black Raiders with 16 points and six rebounds. Ciera LeClair and Weslee Littlefield scored six points each. Winslow finishes the season with a 16-4 record.
