BANGOR– The George Stevens Eagles boys basketball team had four players score in double figures as they rolled to a 68-39 victory over Schenck in a class C north semifinal game played Friday evening at the Cross Insurance Center.
George Stevens went on an 8-0 run in the first quarter to take a 12-4 lead. Schenck cut the deficit to 14-10 early in the second quarter. The Eagles outscored the Wolverines 19-6 the rest of the quarter to take a commanding 33-16 halftime lead. George Stevens outscored Schenck 35-23
in the second half.
Taylor Schildroth led the Eagles with 22 points, five assists, three steals, three blocks, and three rebounds. Nick Szwez scored 14 points and pulled down five rebounds, Jarrod Chase added 12 points and four rebounds, Max Mattson recorded 10 points, 14 rebounds, and four blocks. George Stevens (19-1) will take on Bucksport in the class C regional final on Saturday night at 8:45 p.m. The Bucks defeated Hodgdon in a semifinal game.
Justin Thompson led the Wolverines with 22 points and 15 rebounds. The Eagles outrebounded Schenck 42-26. Schenck finishes their season with a 17-4 record.
