My picks are late this week due to a basketball road trip to Albany but I am back to finish picking the Hockey East quarterfinals. Last week I picked correctly that Northeastern would sweep and end the Maine Black Bears season. I also thought Merrimack-UNH would go all three games which it did I just didn’t pick UNH to win Friday night. So overall I went 3-2 for the week.

Last week 3-2-0 Season 52-23-10

Boston University (21-11-5) at UMass-Lowell (22-8-5)

Lowell took the opening game last night by a score of 3-2 but this is one of the series that will go the distance with the Riverhawks moving on.

Game 2 pick- BU 4, Lowell 2 Game 3 (if nec)- Lowell 3, BU 1

Merrimack (13-18-7) at Providence (26-5-4)

The Friars picked up a two goal win last night in Game one but the Warriors stayed right in it until the end. A large contingent of Merrimack I don’t think matters even in Game two as I look for the Providence sweep.

Game 2 pick- Providence 4, Merrimack 2 Game 3 (if nec.) Providence 5, Merrimack 1

Vermont (14-21-3) at Boston College (25-5-5)

The Eagles cruised by the Cats in Game one and no reason to think the second game won’t be the same way. Eagles sweep and advance.

Game 2 pick- BC 6, Vermont 2 Game 3 (if nec) BC 5, Vermont 2

Northeastern (19-13-5) at Notre Dame (19-9-7)

The Huskies still remain as one of the hottest teams in the country with only one loss since the first week of December. That was proven in the first game as the Huskies knocked off the Irish 3-1 in South Bend Friday night. This series I predict goes three games with Northeastern winning out.

Game 2 pick- Notre Dame 4, Northeastern 3 Game 3 (if nec) Northeastern 2, Notre Dame 1 (overtime)
