Joe Kelly gave up six runs in the fourth inning, and he didn’t even record an out in the inning. When he left the game after allowing a grand slam to Josh Donaldson , the Red Sox trailed the Blue Jays 7-2.

Thanks to six scoreless innings from the bullpen and a grand slam from Brock Holt, the Red Sox were able to come back and get an 8-7 win at the Rogers Centre on Friday evening,

Noe Ramirez fired two innings, allowing only two hits and striking out four after taking over for Kelly.  Matt Barnes, Junichi Tazawa, Koji Uehara, and Craig Kimbrel followed with one hitless inning each. Barnes recorded the win, while Kimbrel got what will hopefully be his first save of many in a Red Sox uniform.

Holt his grand slam in the sixth inning, that cut the deficit to 7-6. Xander Bogaerts doubled, David Ortiz and Travis Shaw each walked to knock Jays ace Marcus Stroman from the game before the slam from Holt.

The Red Sox took the lead on run scoring hits from David Ortiz and Hanley Ramirez in the seventh inning. Bogaerts finished with three hits, while Ortiz, Ramirez, and Holt had two hits each. Holt had five RBI. The teams will play game two of the series on Saturday afternoon, when Rick Porcello faces R.A.Dickey at 1 PM.
