The Boston Red Sox finished their first week of the season with a 3-0 loss against the Blue Jays on Sunday afternoon. at the Rogers Centre, that was the bad news. The good news is the Red Sox won three out of five games during the week, including winning two out of three at Toronto.
Steven Wright pitched very well, despite giving up two first inning runs. Marco Estrada was even better. The Blue Jays right hander threw seven scoreless innings. He allowed five hits, while walking two and striking out eight. Hanley Ramirez had three of the seven hits for the Red Sox on Sunday. Ramirez is hitting .455 through the first five games. Wright allowed two runs (one earned) in 6.2 innings.
David Price (1-0) will be on the mound for the Red Sox home opener against the Baltimore Orioles and Yovani Gallardo (1-0) on Monday afternoon at 2 PM. The Orioles (5-0) are the only undefeated team in baseball through the first week of the season.
