The Boston Bruins 6-1 loss in their final regular season game on Saturday didn’t take alot of fans or media by surprise. Boston earned only seven of a possible 24 points in their final 12 games (3-8-1).

Coupled with a Philadelphia Flyers win over Pittsburgh later Saturday afternoon, the Bruins once again missed out on the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The Bruins will now face a few question marks as the offseason officially begins. First off is the head coach. Will Boston part ways will the guy that won the most games in Bruins history in Claude Julien? Loui Eriksson will again be at the center of attention as well when the free agency period begins later this spring and early summer.

One thing is clear as most Bruins fans would agree, things need to be done better in the front office to get Boston back to contending again for a Stanley Cup. The 2015-16 team was simply not good enough to contend. Let’s wait and see what happens. For now let’s try to enjoy the Stanley Cup Playoffs without the Black and Gold.
