The University of Maine softball team used a balance attack to record 18 hits and defeat Albany 14-1 to capture the America East championship on Saturday afternoon at Binghamton.
It is the first conference championship for the Black Bears since 2004. They will find out their NCAA regional destination on Sunday, May 15 during the 10 p.m. NCAA selection show on ESPNU.
