YThe Boston Red Sox starting pitchers threw 12.1 innings of horrible baseball at Globe Life Park in Arlington over the weekend.

David Price, Steven Wright, and Clay Buchholz all got roughed up. Price only lasted 2.1 innings on Friday night when the Red Sox made an improbable comeback to get an 8-7 win. They were trailing 6-0 after three innings and 7-4 with two outs in the top of the ninth inning. Sandy Leon battled through an 11 pitch at bat that ended with a double, Mookie Betts hit a game tying two run homer, and the go ahead run scored on a wild pitch.

That was the end of the fun for the Red Sox. They fell 10-3 on Saturday night as Steven Wright lasted only 4.2 innings. Clay Buchholz got roughed up in 5.1 innings in a 6-2 loss on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Sox will try to turn it around when they start a three game series against the Rays at Tropicana Field on Monday night. The Rays are struggling themselves. They have dropped 11 straight games, including a four game series at Camden Yards against the first place Orioles. This will be a start of an 11 game home stand for the Rays. Eduardo Rodriguez, Rick Porcello, and Price will take the mound for the Red Sox. Rays top prospect lefty Blake Snell will face Rodriguez on Monday night. Rays struggling ace Chris Archer will face Porcello on Tuesday night. Matt Moore will take on Price to wrap up the series at Noon on Wednesday.
