Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 193 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had 13 Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Seth Holston scored four touchdowns to led the Houlton football team to their first win of the season, Holston joins Kyle Bouchard (4) (1-3-16), Jimmy Fitzpatrick (10-14-12),
Kolleen Bouchard (6) (2-28-16), and Natalie Hill (9-27-15) as student/athletes from Houlton high school to earn athlete of the week honors.
Down East Limousine male athlete of the week
Seth Holston- Houlton- football- rushed for 196 yards and three touchdowns and added an 87 yard kickoff return, plus had six tackles and a pass break up on defense in 36-14 win over Washington Academy.

Brad Mckechnie – PVHS- soccer- recorded a hat trick in 4-1 win over Mattanawcook academy. Recorded a hat trick in 7-1 win over PCHS.

Andrew Speed- Central- soccer- scored three goals and had two assists in 10-0 win over Dexter. Had two goals in 5-3 loss to Orono.
Colin Beckett- Penquis- soccer- scored one goal in 2-1 win over Dexter.
Dereck Thomas- Penquis- soccer- scored one goal in 2-1 win over Dexter.
Brian Moulton- PCHS- soccer- scored two goals in 5-4 win over Greenville.
Dillion Drew- PCHS- soccer- scored two goals in 5-4 win over Greenville.
Bryce Gilbert- PCHS – soccer- for the second time in a week, Gilbert scored a goal in overtime in a Pirates win, this time 5-4 over Greenville.
Connor Kneeland- Searsport-soccer- recorded three goals and five assists in 11-0 win over Islesboro.
Barrett Grant- Searsport- soccer- recorded three goals and four assists in 11-0 win over Islesboro.
Eli Buzzell- MCI- football- rushed for 278 yards and one touchdown in 41-21 win over Bucksport.
Matt Fowler- Orono- football- scored three touchdowns in 50-14 win over Ellsworth.
Tyler Beem- Dexter- football- rushed for 77 yards and one touchdown in 28-6 win over Mattanawcook.
