GUILFORD– Grace Bickford scored two second half goals to lift the Foxcroft Ponies girls soccer team to a 3-0 victory over the Piscataquis Community high school (PCHS) Pirates on Thursday afternoon.
The Ponies controlled the ball in the first half, but were not able to get anything by Pirates goalie Alivia Hunt. She recorded 10 saves on 15 shots in the first 40 minutes of play.
Bickford turned those shots into goals early in the second half. Bickford converted on an assist from Cassidy Panciera with 36:38 remaining. Bickford made it 2-0 just 4:37 after the first goal.
Olivia Wesley scored an insurance goal with 9:51 remaining. Kiara Prescott finished with seven saves on nine shots for the Ponies. Foxcroft (4-1) will travel to Caribou on Saturday.
Hunt finished with 20 saves on 34 shots for the Pirates. PCHS (2-3) will next play on Saturday, September 24th when they host Searsport for their homecoming game. Click here for the full high school soccer scoreboard.
