BANGOR, Maine- Quarterback Cory Brandon tied a school record Saturday afternoon in passing for five touchdowns to lead the Husson University Eagles football team to a convincing 42-0 ECFC win over Anna Maria at a damp Winkin Sports Complex.
Brandon went 14-20 passing for 305 yards and no interceptions. He threw touchdown passes of 32, 53, 25, 93 and 21 yards as the Eagles built a 28-0 halftime lead and cruised to their sixth straight win and stayed unbeaten in the ECFC.
John Smith also rushed for 231 yards on 34 carries and a score as the Eagles outrushed the visitors 403 to minus 12 and overall 708-37 in total yards.
Deon Wiggins and Kadeem Edge both caught a pair of touchdown passes from Brandon while Robenson Saintard caught the other. Wiggins had a total of five catches for 140 yards. Edge caught four for 70 yards and Saintard had three for 92 yards.
Darius Jones-Clark was only 11-28 passing for 49 yards for Anna Maria (0-7, 0-4).
Defensively, Husson (6-1, 4-0) was lead by Ellis Throckmorton who had 10 total tackles, three quarterback sacks and a forced fumble. Logan Steward also had five tackles and a sack.
Anna Maria will return home next Saturday to battle Mt Ida at 1 p.m. while Husson travels to Becker for a noon kickoff.
