BANGOR— You know what they say, a balanced offense and a great defense will get you places, and that rang true this afternoon for the undefeated Bangor Christian Patriots in a 7-0 Quarter-Final win over the (9-5-1) Easton Bears.
Offensively seven different players scored for the Patriots, it all started with an unassisted goal by Tyler Welch, then Tyler Lehman scored with 28:58 left in the first half.
It was the second half when the flood gates opened up. Jonathan Cormier scored on a Penalty Kick with 31:52 left to play, then just under a minute later Josh Palmeter gave BC a 4-0 lead. Palmeter also had two assists to Luke Chandler and Sam Remington. Erick Gorczock also had a goal for the Patriots.
Defensively the Patriots were able to shut out the Bears and keep the ball on their side of the field for most of the game. Goalie Austin Keib had three Saves on eight shots.
For the Easton Bears, Goalies Jason Flewelling and Collin Sotomayor had a combined seven saves on 18 Shots.
The 15-0 Bangor Christian Patriots will face the winner of #6 PVHS and #3 Ashland on Friday at Boucher Field on the Husson University Campus.
