Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. This week, we had three Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Taylor Schildroth scored all three goals to lead number nine George Stevens to an upset over top seed Orono. The Eagles also defeated Houltom in the semifinals and will meet Washington Academy in the regional final on Wednesday. It is the third athlete of the week honor for Schildroth. He earned the honor on February 21st and February 28th during the 2016 high school basketball tournament..

Taylor Schildroth- George Stevens- soccer- recorded a hat trick in 3-0 win over #1 seed Orono in a class C quarterfinal game.

Manuel Sanchez- Washington Academy- soccer- scored four goals in 9-1 class C semifinal win over Central.
