Maine Hockey drops second game of home and home at Lowell

The UMass-Lowell Mens Hockey team got goals from four different players Sunday afternoon in defeating Maine 4-1 at Tsongas Arena in Lowell, Massachusetts, in the second game of a home and home weekend series before 4,931 fans.

Maine (4-6-2, 1-3-0 Hockey East) broke their seven game winless skid by defeating Lowell 5-2 Friday night at Alfond Arena, but Maine fell to 1-6-2 in their last nine games that includes a mark of 0-3-2 away from home.

Ryan Lohin, John Edwardh, Joe Gambardella, and Jake Kamrass also scored for the Riverhawks who improve to 7-3-2, 3-1-0 in Hockey East. Lohin and Gambardella also had assists while Dylan Zink had three assists on the afternoon.

Dane Gibson had the lone Black Bears goal. Rob McGovern made 25 saves in net and took the loss, while Tyler Wall picked up the win as the freshman made 20 saves.

Maine hits the road next Friday and Saturday for a two game series at Vermont at 7 and 4 p.m. UMass-Lowell will travel to Notre Dame on Thursday and Friday for two games beginning at 7:35 p.m.
