Rick Porcello wins 2016 American League Cy Young Award

Rick Porcello had his worst season in his career in 2015. Porcello came back in a huge way, by having his best season in 2016. He finished with a league leading 22 wins. Porcello finished fifth in earned run average (3.15). He had 189 strikeouts in 223 innings, and a WHIP of 1.01.

Those impressive number earned Porcello the 2016 American League Cy Young Award. He joins Jim Lonborg (1967), Roger Clemens (1986, 1987,1991), Pedro Martinez (1999,2000) as Red Sox pitchers that have earned the award.
