Replacing David Ortiz will be impossible for the Boston Red Sox. They may end up bringing back a familiar face to try and fill some of that void.
Mike Napoli was a key part of the 2013 world championship team and is now a free agent. Napoli had a career season in 2016, helping the Cleveland Indians win the American League pennant. The Indians, Red Sox, and another one of Napoli’s former teams the Texas Rangers are showing interest in signing the slugger.
Another possible option is Carlos Beltran. The Rangers, Yankees, and Red Sox are among the teams interested in one of the best switch hitters in the game.
