The Boston Red Sox didn’t get Chris Sale in July. They did get him on December 6th when the price was much lower than the rumored price before the 2016 trade deadline.
The Red Sox sent number two prospect Yoan Moncada, flame throwing Michael Kopech, along with Luis Alexander Basabe and Victor Diaz to the Chicago White Sox for Sale.
The Red Sox also acquired relief pitcher Tyler Thornburg from the Milwaukee Brewers earlier in the day.
