Well I have gone into double digit incorrect picks so far on the season but another solid week at 3-1-0 has me rolling into Week 10. This weekend Maine slides back into non-conference play as they welcome American International College in for a weekend series. Also I will pick a big Hockey East series between BU and Vermont in Burlington.
Last week 3-1-0 Season record 21-10-5
Last weeks results:
Friday, December 2
UNH 5, Maine 1 correct pick
Minnesota 5, Ohio State 3 correct pick
Saturday, December 3
UNH 4, Maine 3 incorrect pick
Ohio St 8, Minnesota 3 correct pick
This weeks games:
Friday, December 9
American International (3-6-6) at Maine (5-9-3)
The Yellow Jackets from AIC invade the Alfond out of the Atlantic Hockey conference for a pair of weekend games with the Black Bears. Last weekend AIC dropped a 1-0 decision to Army, while Maine was swept by rival UNH in a home and home series.
The pick- Maine is a better team than AIC and the Bears need to show that this weekend to start turning things around. MAINE 4, AIC 1
#5 Boston University (8-4-2, 3-1-2 Hockey East) at #12 Vermont (9-3-2, 4-2-1)
The Terriers fresh off a tie and a win in a home and home with Providence last weekend come into the Gutterson FieldHouse to face a red hot Vermont team. Vermont hasn’t played though since November 25 and 26, when they took home the Belpot Trophy for winning the Friendship Four Tournament in Belfast, Northern Ireland with wins over UMass and #3 Quinnipiac.
The pick- Both teams have been hot as BU is 4-1-1 in their last six and Vermont is 5-0-1. I am taking the Terriers simply because I believe the time off will hurt Vermont in night one. BU 3 VERMONT 2
Saturday, December 10
AIC at Maine
Black Bears go for a rare weekend sweep in front of the Mainiacs at the Alfond.
The pick- No reason the Bears shouldn’t sweep. MAINE 3, AIC 0
BU at Vermont
This smells like a split since I saw it on the schedule. Terriers with other thoughts, but the Cats try to claw back.
The pick- VERMONT 4, BU 2
