Expectations– The Ponies graduated 4 State Champions and some great leaders from a Class that worked hard to bring FA Wrestling back on top. They brought the discipline, dedication, and commitment that it takes to get to the top. Now is the time for this next group of wrestlers to take the torch and continue with the tradition at FA. High expectations are nothing new for FA Wrestling. They have high expectations for themselves every time they step on the mat. The names might change but the goals and hard work will always be a part of a FA wrestling.
Strengths– Foxcroft returns 4 wrestlers that were State Placers and Qualifiers to this year’s team. RJ Nelson, Brandon Weston, Dustin Simmons, and Connor Johnson will be counted on to lead the team. They will also be counting on transfer students Marcus Caudill (Jr.) from Caribou, Elijah Ames (Jr.) from Central HS, and Matt Storer (Sr.) from North Carolina. Newcomers, Freshman Rico Ayala, Adam Dulac, and Josh Tibbetts come in with wrestling experience. They lead their team as Penquis League Runners-Up last year.
Challenges– The challenge for FA will be to fill those empty weight classes with quality wrestlers and get them plenty of experience before the end of the season. They will also be without their returning State Champion Billy Brock, who suffered an end of season leg injury during Football season. His leadership and toughness will be missed. FA has a very competitive schedule this year, as they will go to the Mt. Valley Tournament, the Noble Christmas Tournament, and the Warrior Clash Tournament at Nokomis HS.
