The University of Maine Womens basketball team will go for their fifth straight win when it faces #11 Miami (FL.) in the Miami Holiday Classic Championship game this evening at 5 p.m. in Coral Gables, Florida.
The Hurricanes from the ACC have won 10 games in a row and are 10-1 on the season. Maine enters the contest at 7-5. The Bears are in the final stretch of their non-conference schedule. They will visit Tulane and Boston College next Wednesday and Friday, before turning to the conference opener on January 4 at Vermont.
This will be the third time this season that Maine will face a nationally ranked opponent. Maine lost the Tip-Off Tourney Title game on November 12th in Bangor to now #5 Mississippi State 87-43, and also lost in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Womens Challenge to now #6 South Carolina 79-42 on November 21st at South Carolina.
