Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 206 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had 12 Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Morgan Dauk averaged over 30 points in leading George Stevens to a pair of wins this week. Dauk and the Eagles have started the season with five wins. Dauk joins Taylor Schildroth (4)(12-17-16) as student/athletes from George Stevens Academy that have earned athlete of the week honors.

Morgan Dauk- George Stevens- basketball- scored 38 points in 67-60 win in four overtimes against Bucksport. Scored 23 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in 46-20 win over Sumner.

Runner up

Breanna Coombs- Bucksport- basketball- scored 33 points, including eight three pointers in 65-26 win over Deer Isle-Stonington. Scored 29 points in 67-60 loss to George Stevens in 4 overtimes.

Emma Campbell- Central- basketball- recorded 10 steals, five rebounds, three assists, and six points in 36-18 win over Dexter.

Libby Cook- Central- basketball- recorded 10 points, six rebounds, and three steals in 36-18 win over Dexter.

Emma Alley- Stearns- basketball- scored 12 points in 48-38 win over PCHS. Scored 20 points in 57-25 win over Penquis. Scored 23 points in 84-28 win over Katahdin.

Peighton Ingersoll- Stearns- basketball- scored 11 points in 48-38 win over PCHS. Scored 14 points in 84-28 win over Katahdin.

Katherine Alley- Stearns- basketball- scored 10 points in 48-38 win over PCHS. Scored 15 points in 84-28 win over Katahdin.

Chelsea Crockett – Nokomis- basketball- recorded 15 points, seven rebounds, and six steals in 56-25 win over Medomak Valley. Scored 19 points and grabbed six rebounds in 61-46 win over Brewer.

Kolleen Bouchard- Houlton- basketball- scored 25 points, including her 1000 career point in 66-32 win over Mattanawcook.

Emily Wheaton- Presque Isle- basketball- the sophomore guard scored a game-high 23 points, including hitting three 3-pointers in a 60-51 loss to John Bapst.

Grace Phillipon- John Bapst-basketball-the junior scored recorded 17 points, eight rebounds, and five assists in a 60-51 win over Presque Isle. Phillipon also hit 7-8 from the line, including 5-6 in the fourth quarter of a close game.

Katie Butler- Bangor- basketball- recorded 13 points, 21 rebounds, three blocked shots, and scored the go ahead basket with less than one minute remaining in 36-34 win over Windham.
