High school basketball preview- December 28th

December 28, 2016

The high school basketball schedule on Wednesday will feature 12 girls games and eight boys games. Washburn will travel to Central Aroostook for a class D matchup that will have plenty of heal points up for grabs.

Central Aroostook has won three straight since losing the season opener to Madawaska. The Panthers have only allowed 18.7 points in their last three. The only loss for Washburn came against Southern Aroostook.

The East Grand and Madawaska girls will look to stay unbeaten when they meet at Madawaska this afternoon. The Owls (5-0) biggest win came against Central Aroostook on December 17th. Easton (4-0) has not allowed more than 29 points in a game.  Madawaska is currently third in the Maine Principals’ Assocation class C heal point standings, while Easton is second in the class D standings. It is still early in the season, but this is the kind of game that could put the winner in great position to get a top four spot in their respective class.

Eastern Maine Sports will have live audio coverage of a class C girls basketball game between Dexter (3-1) and Bucksport (2-2) starting at 6:50 PM.

The Augusta Civic Center will have a day full of games including the following boys games- Mt. Blue VS Messalonskee (1:30 PM), Erskine VS Skowhegan (6 PM), Brewer VS Gardiner (7:30 PM).
