The first day/night of high school school basketball in 2017 will feature key games highlighted by a class B girls matchup between John Bapst and Central.
The Crusaders come in at 6-1, while Central is 4-1. The only loss for John Bapst came Friday night against Hermon. The Red Devils also are coming off a loss as they fell at Foxcroft last Tuesday. Eastern Maine Sports will have live Audio Coverage from Central high school starting at 6:50.
The defending class C girls state champions from Narraguagus (4-2)will try and get revenge for a loss earlier in the season when they travel to Woodland. The Dragons come in at 5-1.
The Dexter girls will host Penquis in a matchup of class C teams with four wins each.
The top team in the current Maine Principals’ Association class D girls standings is Easton. The 5-1 Bears will have a tough test when they travel to 4-1 Central Aroostook. Both teams lost to class C undefeated Madawaska.
The Messalonskee girls will look to stay unbeaten when they travel to Brewer. In boys action, Messalonskee will host Brewer in a key class A matchup.
