The defending class D north girls champion Shead Tigers improved to 6-0 when they defeated East Grand 49-36 on Tuesday evening. Holly Preston had 20 points and 10 assists for the Tigers. It was the first game closer than 27 so far this season against Shead.

Taylor Schildroth scored 21 points to lead the George Stevens boys basketball team to a 77-51 win over Searsport. The defending class C state champions are now 8-0.
